Straight and LGBT Family Picnics

Were you at the Argentinean meeting of LGBT and Straight Families? We heard about this interesting event from the other side of the ocean. We’re talking about the celebration of Family Diversity on Valentine’s Day. This was an event that was carried out simultaneously in over fifteen cities and towns around the world, (although some areas postponed the event to next weekend because of heavy rain). It’s good for a better understood visibility, an example of co-existance and transformation.

Deep House for this Week

We couldn’t wait to publish our list of bare essentials for your weekend party, above all after having launched our new website in which we feel right at home. We’ve selected the top five songs you cannot miss, and a little something extra: Secret Cinema. This song was a must in 2009 and , yeah, I know it’s 2010 but the standard was set so high that we just have to mention it again today.

This week Massive Attack, a group hat has marked us, launched a new album after 7 years. You’ll like Helligoland if you consider that Mezzanine was hard to beat.

Can a Soccer Player come out of the Closet?

“I was a little kid on my way to school getting ready to confront my bullies.” That’s how Graeme Le Saux, British soccer player and Chelsea defense, describes his experience with his classmates in his autobiography. And he wasn’t even gay. Nothing compared to what Justin Fashanu, the professional soccer player who made his homosexuality public back in 1998, had to go through for many years. Aside from having to put up with racist comments for being black, Fashanu never denied the fact that he was gay. This is the reason why one of the most important organizations in UK that fights homophobia has his name.

Give yourself a Trip

There are a variety of  possibilities to enjoy Valentine’s Day. We’re inclined to the Nordic countries that bring together two of the things we most like: fun and design. In Oslo there’s the celebration of the Worldwide Mister Gay 2010. If you want to check out their website here it is:  visitoslo.es, you can find the Mr. Gay World Packages, that include one entrance to the Mr. Gay Valentines Party, and to the contest finals.
In Stockholm there’s the 2010 Design Week. The city has different visitable events in museums, galleries and showrooms. This year the main focus is lighting and furniture and that’s a MUST see.

The First LGBT Investment Fund

Gay Carnival in Brazil 2010

Florianopolis has been consolidated as one of the largest LGTB meeting points on the planet. We’ve been recommended The Bar Do Deca: DJs, great beach and people from all over the world.

In the Pousada La Galheta it’s common to book a double bed for two men or two women and staff service is excellent.

More info on Florianopolis in English here.

Sex on Ice

For those of you who are planning on going to Canada, we have to proposals for all budgets. The first is simply incredible, it’s one of these places that you can visit once and remember it for the rest of your life. It’s been a while since we’ve been keeping track of Ice Hotels around the world, but this one is simply amazing.

This is the Hotel Glacé, it opens this month and it’ll be available until April.

This next option is more appropriate for those who are planning a study or business trip to Toronto. The design is beautiful and the price, affordable, if it’s for a few days.

These are the Hotel Drake studio-apartments.

In either of these, if you travel alone or with company, you can check out the second edition of Khalo Ali’s new book, Tuamo.net (Your Master). Very accordingly to the book’s content, they hired Spanish porn star Macanao Torres for it’s campaign. Too hairy for our taste, but we know that many love him.

It was sold out the first two weeks after its launch, so that means that sales through the internet are more and more effective every day. This is their website.

We’re expanding

You can find our content on Gaypedia, with whom we’ve begun to collaborate, (you’ll also find a version for your mobile) so shortly our Spanish speaking readers will have more content about travelling around Europe and a broader Spanish version of the best places for the LGBT community.

Plus, we’re getting started on The Shop. It’s just what we thought, a good idea to get all the other work we do out there. In only a couple of weeks it has been one of the most visited places on our blog next to Madrid and London. We hope that with all this we can gain new experiences that’ll help others that dare to open new paths for the future.
